Fanlistings are meant to be places where all the fans of a certain person, thing, movie, song, tv show, etc. can unite and show their love for the subject in question. The original fanlistings network was the brainchild of Janine, who wanted to find out how many fans there were scattered around the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the official best show ever). If you visit TFL.org now, you'll see that there are about 30,000 listings, so Janine's idea obviously caught on with the obsessive, web-savvy public. :)

If you've never joined a fanlisting before, you might be wondering what you're getting yourself into. Well, not to worry -- you're really just adding your name to a list of people who are fans of something, in this case, Nathan Scott. You will not be signing up for a mailing list or anything like that. You'll get one email when I add you to the list, and you might get a note from me if the site ever moves, but other than that I guarantee that I won't be bugging you with constant emails or anything. Your email address does not have to be displayed on this site, so you don't need to worry about spammers getting ahold of it. Basically, if you don't have a website, then joining a fanlisting asks absolutely nothing of you aside from filling out one form. If you have a website, you can put up link buttons showing off all the things you're a fan of, but you don't have to do that if you don't want to. So all you're doing by joining this fanlisting is telling the world that you love Nathan, and helping tell anyone who happens to see this site just how many people feel the same way. And that's pretty much all you need to know.

This fanlisting is devoted to Nathan Scott from One Tree Hill. Played by James Lafferty, Nathan is one of the main characters on the show. He's Lucas' brother, Haley's husband, Dan and Deb's son, and Jamie's father. I'm a big fan of Nathan; he developed from a complete asshole in the show's early episodes into a pretty great guy after he met and starting dating Haley. I love their relationship, and Nate's relationships with other characters on the show. But mostly I love Nathan. He's sweet, strong, and dependable, and he's my favourite character on One Tree Hill.

I named the site Stepping Up after Nathan's voiceover in episode 3.20, "Every Day is a Sunday Evening": "Stepping up. It's a simple concept. It basically means to rise above yourself. To do a little more. To show something special ... Like I said, in sports, they call this stepping up. In life, I call it pushing back." I think it suits Nathan really well because he's always willing to do more and to be a better person.
